Un enviado de la oscuridad roba un cáliz dorado del Museo Británico de Londres, pero el ladrón necesita el manuscrito que contiene las pistas para interpretar los grabados que rodean el llamado Grial de Trewissick.

Los hermanos Drew, los tres personajes que encontraron la reliquia en el pasado, van a pasar las vacaciones de Pascua en Cornwall, donde coincidirán con el joven Will Stanton, el último sobreviviente de un grupo de guerreros inmortales que a lo largo de los siglos ha puesto todo su esfuerzo por proteger el Bien contra las fuerzas del Mal. Durante su estancia, la población se prepara para la celebración del ritual anual de la Brujaverde.

                   

Solo se admite la presencia de mujeres en esta celebración de primavera, durante la cual los aldeanos construyen la Brujaverde, una estructura de piedra y madera que luego arrojan al mar desde un acantilado. 

Aunque los extranjeros no son admitidos en el ritual, Jane Drew está invitada a asistir. Antes de tirarlo al agua, todas las mujeres tocan a la Bruja Verde y piden un deseo. Cuando llega el turno de Jane, solo se le ocurre pedirle a la Bruja Verde que sea feliz.

Junto al grial, los Drew hallaron un manuscrito guardado en una cajita de plomo que contenía la clave para descifrarlo. El manuscrito se perdió en el mar y ahora está en manos de la Brujaverde. 

Al final del libro, sin embargo, tras derrotar al agente del Mal que ya se ha apoderado del cáliz y que ahora necesita a toda costa el manuscrito para despertar las fuerzas de la oscuridad ocultas en la reliquia, Jane recibe de manos de la propia Brujaverde el estuche que contiene el texto como recompensa por haber deseado que la escultura de piedra y madera encontrara la felicidad antes de arrojarla por el acantilado.

Los temas más relevantes se describen a continuación:

• Importancia y sentido de las tradiciones: a lo largo de toda la novela, la autora hace referencia a varias tradiciones (la mayoría procedentes de la cultura celta).
• La importancia de los sueños en la vida cotidiana:a lo largo de del libro Jane recibe la visita de la Brujaverde en sueños, y así descubre cuánto necesita saber acerca del ídolo de piedra y madera para poder resolver la historia.
• La pérdida del elemento mágico en el mundo altamente científico y racional.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

An envoy of darkness steals a golden chalice from the British Museum in London, but the thief needs the manuscript that contains the clues to interpret the engravings surrounding the so-called Grail of Trewissick.

The Drew brothers, the three characters who found the relic in the past, are going to spend Easter holidays in Cornwall, where they will coincide with the young Will Stanton, the last survivor of a group of immortal warriors that throughout the centuries He has put all his effort into protecting Good against the forces of Evil. During his stay, the population prepares for the celebration of the annual ritual of the Brujaverde.

Next to the grail, the Drew found a manuscript stored in a lead box containing the key to decipher it. The manuscript was lost at sea and is now in the hands of the Brujaverde. At the end of the book, however, after defeating the agent of Evil who has already seized the chalice and now needs at all costs the manuscript to awaken the forces of darkness hidden in the relic, Jane receives from the hands of Brujaverde herself the case that contains the text as a reward for having wished that the sculpture of stone and wood would find happiness before throwing it down the cliff.
